National Honor Society

Founded in 1921, the National Honor Society is one of the oldest student recognition organizations in the U.S.

High school students, in grades 10, 11, and 12, who are MEVA National Honor Society members maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher and have been chosen by the MEVA NHS faculty council based on their grades and the National Honor Society application requirements.

The four main goals of NHS are:

"To create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of secondary schools."

With an emphasis on service, National Honor Society members must complete a minimum number of service hours each semester. Through the National Honor Society, students develop character and leadership skills while maintaining high standards in scholarship.

National Honor Society Recognizes Students for Distinguished Service, Leadership

The mission of the National Honor Society is to:

  • Create enthusiasm for scholarship
  • Stimulate a desire to render service
  • Promote leadership
  • Develop character in secondary school students

MEVA is proud to be recognized by the National Honor Society (NHS) for having an outstanding high school.
